The cross concept came from a pencil drawing I ran across and I started wondering how it would look inlayed into wood. I just about bit off more than I could chew on this one. Halfway through the inlay wasn't working out and I almost threw it in the garbage. Instead I set it aside....... for about a year ......Anyway, I picked it back up one day and finally got it finished. I'm glad I did.
Butterfly inlays are a lot of fun for me to work on. They aren’t as difficult as some of the more intricate designs. The first butterfly I made looked like something out of a third grade coloring book. The lines were crooked and lopsided and it surprised me that it even resembled a butterfly. But if you looked real close you could make it out!
